Acceptability of Home Health Nursing Program

Abstract
This study was done to determine the Acceptability which include necessity, utilization of Home Health Nursing Program and services of home nursing care of Home Health Nursing Program. Total subjects of 1,588 which include patients and their patrons discharged from 5 general hospitals in Seoul aria were collected from July to August 1988 using questionnaires and interviews.
The results of the study were as follows
1. About 80 percents of total subjects agree to a system of the Home Health Nursing Program provided by nurses. That is, regardless of sources of medical expenses, s t of patients and their patrons wanted to be taken care of at home following discharge.
2. Merits of the Home Health Nursing Program were "emotional stability of patient is", " convenience of home nursing care", "time saving", "being initiated nursing care" itc. in the order of their score.
3. From the multiple regression analysis on the necessity of Home Health Nursing Program of the total subjects the following 16 variables were statistically significant ; emotional stability of patients, time saving, patients activity chick, good economy, self instruction, health education, psychological change for visiting, sampling for the diagnostic test, managing individual hygiene, religion, medical insurance, nutritive conditions, experience of hospitalization, knowledge about disease, inconvenience of family members and catholic, in the order of variables score for all three groups of subjects.
4. Statistically significant variables associated with utilization for the Home Health N sing Program were time saving, psychological releaf, six, emotional stability of patients, nutritivi conditions, anxiety for patients bad turn, students group, etc.
5. The variables which were associated with the opinion toward home care services given by nurses were effective use of medical source, convenience for family members, health education, etc. for general subjects group while the variables of the opinion toward home care services, health education and unfavorable environments, etc. in case of patients group.
